Design & Construction, New Third runway, Hong Kong Airport

The scale of the three-runway system (3RS) project is almost equal to building a new airport next to the existing one. A 3 800-metre-long runway and its supporting taxiway systems are constructed as part of the 3RS. This lecture will consist of Basic Design Background, Airfield Capacity, Physical Characteristics and Construction Sequence of the New Third Runway.

Jay Nair is currently working with Airport Authority, Hong Kong as a Deputy General manager, in the Third runway Division looking after the design and construction of the New Third Runway at Hong Kong Airport. 

Jay walked us through the contruction under the back drop of COVID to HK Airport into a airport city.  This much more than sand and concrete but science and engineering coming together.
